Relationship Development Intervention®
RDI® is a treatment program designed to remediate autism. It is a developmental approach which focuses on building competency in a variety of dynamic situations. Successful experiences provide motivation for continued discoveries and learning. The consultant guides families in restoring the adult-child relationship in which all children learn.
RDI® is cost effective when compared with other, traditional therapies. The parents’ relationship with their child is the means for bringing about changes in the child and so, in the absence of co-occurring conditions, therapists are not required.
RDI® was developed by Dr. Stephen Gutstein and Dr. Rachelle Sheely and is based on 20 years of research on typical development as well as scientific studies on people with autism.
